Sewer Scope Inspection (Video Sewer Line Inspection)

A sewer scope inspection is a proactive evaluation of the home’s main sewer line using a high-resolution camera. During the inspection, a licensed plumber inserts a specialized sewer camera through an accessible cleanout and travels the line to the connection at the street or septic system. This allows us to view the interior condition of the pipe in real time.

The inspection helps identify common but often hidden issues such as:

  • Tree root intrusion

  • Cracked, collapsed, or separated pipes

  • Bellies (low spots that hold water)

  • Blockages or buildup

  • Deterioration due to age or pipe material (cast iron, clay, etc.)

Many sewer problems do not show symptoms until a failure occurs, which can lead to costly repairs after purchase. A sewer scope provides valuable insight into one of the most expensive and overlooked systems in a home—especially for older properties or homes with mature trees.

After the inspection, the homeowner receives a clear explanation of findings and video documentation. If issues are discovered, we can provide guidance on next steps so buyers can make informed decisions or negotiate repairs before closing.
