Radon Testing
Cost for Radon Test (Continuous Monitor)
$150 — Active testing devices require power to function. Active radon detectors such as continuous radon monitors and continuous working level monitors require operation by trained, state-certified testers. They work by continuously measuring and recording the amount of radon or its decay products in the air of the home. Many of these devices provide a report of this information which can reveal any unusual or abnormal swings in the radon level during the test period. The results of a Continuous Radon test are received within a day or two of the completion of the test.
Cost for Radon Test (Charcoal Canisters)
$50 — Canisters are placed at the time of the home inspection and retrieved by the client or client's agent at the end of test period. The client or agent follows the EPA guidelines to complete the test: seals the charcoal canisters, completes the test site paperwork. then places the canisters with the completed test information card and mails the radon kit in a prelabeled, prepaid Priority Mail cardboard box to the radon test laboratory for processing. This service can be selected during the appointment request process. The results of a Charcoal Canister test are received approximately a week after the completion of the test.
